Swim
Comments: Swim started out fast, and I found myself out of breath. Slowed it down and concentrated on stroke, glide and naiviagation. Rounded bouy OK. Navigation back to ramp was real good, and easier with sun behind me. What would you do differently?: Use mirrored goggles. Transition 1
Comments: T1 was OK, better than last year. Used different socks and that helped, but got small pebbles inside socks, that later gave me a blister (not during race). Boat ramp was slippery coming out of the water and then had to run up a hill. Was really out of breath. What would you do differently?: Not much, perhaps decide to sit on towel right away and get shoes/socks on instead of trying to do standing and then end up sitting. Bike
Comments: Perhaps I did not push enough on the Bike. I let my swim advantage (came out 14/56 overall) disintegrate here... What would you do differently?: Push harder on hills and into wind. Took it too much like a training ride I think. Transition 2
Comments: Used bike shoes, so did not exit the shoes before the dismount point. Think I did OK on this transition,as it was pretty straight forward. What would you do differently?: Not much, was pleased here... Run
Comments: A little stiff off the bike, and found my "legs" by about the 1 mile mark. No one to pace off, all by myself. Got passed a couple times, but did not know if they were Sprint or Olympic people. Got passed twice towards the end by Sprint people that I beat on Bike and Swim. Hard to keep up. Run is my weakness... What would you do differently?: Push harder and try to find a better way to pace when no one is around. Post race
Warm down: Drink gatorade, visit with Jodi and Mom and Dad. Eat a banana. What limited your ability to perform faster: committment. Last updated: 2012-01-03 12:00 AM

Got up by 6:15 AM. Ate of bowl of plain oatmeal (no sugar or additives). Drank about a quart of watered down Gatorade. Way too much. Got to the event by 8AM, first one to set up in the transition.
Walked around the park x2 and had to use the restroom x2. Pre-race meeting at 9:30 and then got in to the wetsuit. Spent as much time a possible in the water acclimating beforehand, and it seemed to work. I was in Sprint Wave #1, off at 10:02
