Run
Comments: I haven't been out running at all in the last 2 weeks because of all the house projects going on. We have a deadline for getting the house on the market and running took a HUGE backseat. I knew I could run at least just shy of 10 miles, but after that was a free-for-all. Natalie ran with me (which I appreciated VERY MUCH) and I'm really glad she was there because it would have been a much tougher race to finish alone! We talked the whole time! I have never run without my Ipod, so I knew this might be an issue. It wasn't. It felt good that I could talk and carry on a conversation while running. We had a good time and talked about everything! About mile 9.5 the wheels started to come off. I had a pain in my upper thigh that was prohibiting me from running. It was all I could do to run. I ran until I couldn't anymore, then we walked until the turn in to the homestretch. I was NOT going to walk into the finish line! I missed the goal that I really wanted to reach, but I did finish on my strength and vertically. What would you do differently?: TRAIN!!!!!! Post race
Warm down: Stopped and got my medal :). Went to the PT table and had them work on my sore spot. I could very much feel it when he began to palpitate the muscles. HE worked on it for a few minutes and it felt better. He showed me some stretches to do for my other long runs, as well. What limited your ability to perform faster: Not enough long runs or appropriate training! Last updated: 2012-02-22 12:00 AM

Alarm went off about 5:30 and I shut it off. Didn't sleep too well, so I wasn't ready to get up.
Walked around and tried to not be too nervous. I'm always a nervous Nellie before a race.
