Swim
Comments: I struggled for a bit due to another swimmer determined to do the 'bump'. Once I got free, I dealt with a mind battle, won it and finished. Oh yeah my goggles fogged up but I didn't sop to clear them up, just looked through the little clearing I had to sight. What would you do differently?: Well the only thing I need to do is work on my swim. I still fought that 'sinking' feeling. Then I finally got into a nice groove ohhh about the time I reached the first bouy. Transition 1
Bike
Comments: Dropped my bottle with the powerade toward the beginning of the first loop - the second smaller bottle I had only contained water. I probably didn't drink enough. The second loop I stopped to pick up the bottle I dropped, blew it off and had my powerade. Felt much better. What would you do differently?: ?? Transition 2
What would you do differently?: Put my racebelt on at T1. I ran up to the rack and saw the number on top of my running shoes. Had a bit of mental dysfunction trying to clip it on and have th enumber in the front, and follow it up with my fuel belt. Run
Comments: I walked it. What would you do differently?: Gain the endurance to run, and run it. Post race
Warm down: I stretched, took a hot shower, an kept drinking fluids. What limited your ability to perform faster: Ask me next year - maybe I can answer this better. Event comments: This was only my second one. First was RiverCities - very nice!! If you have positive suggestions, other than to 'train more' let me know. I am new to this, but something I plan to continue with. Last updated: 2006-05-18 12:00 AM

Actually I didn't - due to all the anxiety of wondering if the race would go on. We were all piled in the hotel lobby trying to remain as calm as possible.
I wanted to do a light jog.
