Pre-race routine:

Most of a PowerBar an hour before, and a Roctane about 20 minutes pre-race.
Event warmup:

WU about 2 miles with 2 pickups along the lake. It was sticky!! Stretched a bit at home before that, and stretched heel a bit at race.

Comments:

It got hot. It was slightly into the wind for the first mile, and then with the wind for mile 1.5-2.5, and then slightly into the wind for the final bit (when I was dying). My right side didn't act up for the first time since the Human Race 8K!
Post race
Warm down:

Ran 10:00 with Henry as he needed a nap (Grandpa and Grandma had him during the race). He passed out 3 minutes into it after some crabbing (and slept for 90 minutes).

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of speed work, but I'm trying not to get injured.
