Swim
Comments: There were 75 people in my wave so I had a really hard time getting into a good groove for the first 200 yards. People switching directions, stopping in front of me. Very frustrating. I switched between freestyle and breast stroke. There was a time where I was even on my side and I just kicked. I was doing whatever I could to get to the finish. What would you do differently?: Be stronger at the swim. I was so exhausted by the end. This is what happens when you haven't been in the pool for months...oops! Transition 1
Comments: I thought I had a pretty good routine in this transition. A lot of girls were fumbling with getting their shoes and socks on. I had rolled my socks already and put baby powder in them so I just grabbed them and unrolle dthem onto my feet! I have speed laces so I just pulled those tight, threw on my sunglasses and helmet and I was off. What would you do differently?: Run the entire way to the transition area. Bike
Comments: I liked how they had bike techs every 2 miles to help with flats. Helped reassure all the first timers ;) What would you do differently?: I need tires that can have a higher PSI. My back tire looked flat the entire time. Transition 2
Comments: I was pretty tired by the end of the bike but I tried to run with my bike a little, and then realized I needed to catch my breath before I started on the run so I ended up walking with my bike. Run
Comments: This was my huge downfall. I was dead by the time the run started and I had no energy. I really need to train more on the bike and go straight to running. The course was in the sun the entire time and by then it was about 85 degrees. Post race

I had pasta the night before, woke up at 4:30 and had a bowl of oatmeal with blueberries and some OJ. Drank a bottle of water mixed with gatorade as I waited for a looooooong time to start the swim. Ate some Gatorade chews as well. I didn't start until 8:40 and my transition area was set up by 6AM. Long.Morning.
I didn't warm up at all. Just did some arm stretches while I sat in the grass!
