Swim
Comments: Lake course, modified triangle , out about 200yds, then turn left along the buoys back towards shore. Waves were well spread out, and being in the relay I was in the last wave. The lake has a quick drop off at the start and end, so you need to start swimming right away and swim till the exit. Ironically, it has a very shallow depth near the first buoy so I had to dolphin dive to get around it..An earlier wave swimmer requested help, so a kayak come into the middle of the swim course but overall Swim was good, sighting was easy as there were plenty of closely spaced buoys and the finishing arch at the swim exit really helped navigate as I got closer. What would you do differently?: Swim faster. Transition 1
Bike
Comments: You can see a video of the bike leg here: http://www.abrandao.com/2012/07/08/2012-lincoln-park-triathlon-bike... This was my second leg of the two person relay. So I hopped on my bike and off i went. I went bare torso as this is such a short bike course. Bike course was flat, and fast, two loops. The only issue was a pot hole near mile 4 right turn, luckily riders in front of me narrowly missed it so I was fortunate. Transition 2
Comments: Relay, so just unvecroed my chip and gave it to my partner. Run
Comments: My relay partner noted that it was very hot and humid, felt strong during the whole run and had a good finishing kick. Post race
Warm down: Just hydration and cheering on other racers. Event comments: Great venue and easy swim to bike transition, very good course for a first timer.. Last updated: 2012-07-04 12:00 AM
