Pre-race routine:

I got up at 6:00 and had a bowl of cereal. I went a little bit light on the food knowing that there would be some food at the race site and that plenty would be consumed today!

My goal for this race is to PR. That means sub 41:00. My stretch goal is 40:00.
Event warmup:

I met mom and Aunt Pat in front of Quail Ridge Books and talked to them. I ran into Jerry and Nancy before that and chatted with them a bit as well. Made the required pre-race port-a-pot stop as well.

Comments:

Good run! I lined up with Aunt Patty and I was a little worried about that as I weaved through the other runners. I wanted to PR but I did not want to ditch my aunt either. I mean, it's good to give your family a quick hug and say, "Have a nice race." Anyway, with 2000 runners and me lined up where I was, there was plenty of weaving around to do. All I know is that no turkey tutu runner was going to be unpassed if I could help it. :-)

I bested my previous time by over a minute. Last year I did this course in 41:30 and this year I got it down to 39:55.
Post race
Warm down:

Ate a few pieced of bagel and found my mom. Watched for my aunt.

Event comments:

This event has become a family tradition. I hope to be back again next year!
