Run
Comments: Started out way too fast. I lined up with the 2:15 pace bunny. I knew by the 7K mark I was in trouble. The heat was amazing and there was little or no water to be found at the first three stations. I was very surprise how hard this run was. I've done 21K runs in training 4 times and they were no were near this difficult. The heat and my lack of pacing made it one of the most challenging but rewarding experiences so far. What would you do differently?: SLOW DOWN. I totaly ignored my pace and training. I got totally caught up in the moment. Post race
Warm down: Sat on a rock and enjoyed the sights! :-) What limited your ability to perform faster: This was my first 1/2 Mary so I was happy. The only thing I could have done better was pace myself and drink more water. Event comments: This was a great first 1/2 Marathon. Step 1 completed on my way to my first 1/2 IM! Woohoo! No warm up...just nervously waited at the start line.
