Pre-race routine:

lounged around hotel drinking coffee. Ate a Larabar and a half of a banana.
Event warmup:

Walked from truck to race start with coffee and banana in hand.

Comments:

I ran. I ran uphill. Then I ran downhill. Then I ran some more. The houses in the neighborhood were decorated for Christmas, which was nice. I started out fairly strong, but faded about half way through due to the hills kicking my butt.
What would you do differently?:

Train more. I've done little to no running since Beach-2-Battleship over a month ago. Been laying around drinking beer and eating junk food. I should have been able to do better, but the results are consistent with the lack of training and fitness level.
Post race
Warm down:

The medals are plastic Christmas bulb ornaments hanging from a lanyard. Cute idea, but would have been nicer with a metal ornament rather than a plastic bulb.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Laying around for a month.

Event comments:

I love this race and I think it will keep gaining popularity year after year. It is a tradition for me to run a half marathon right before Christmas and this race certainly fits the bill!
