Run
Comments: It was chilly waiting for the race to start, but I figured that would make for nice running weather. My plan was to run the first half semi-easy, then try for marathon goal pace during the second half. With the exception of the hilly parts on the second half of the race, that's pretty much what happened. While I didn't run this race hard, it certainly wasn't easy. I had wanted to finish in the 1:46 - 1:47 range, so I was happy. What would you do differently?: Nothing, really. Post race
Warm down: I grabbed a smoothie to save for after my four extra miles, and it was a good thing I did because they were gone when I finished. The extra four miles were really slow. At least there was plenty of eggs, beans, and salsa left. What limited your ability to perform faster: The Half the week before and deliberately holding back. Event comments: I still love this race for the after race spread. The smoothies are excellent. I felt bad for some of the later finishers who missed out on them. One other nice thing is that race photos are free. Unfortunately, I didn't like any of the shots they got of me. The silly chilly picture was taken by a friend. Last updated: 2012-10-28 12:00 AM

I wasn't too concerned about this race. My A-Half was last week and I just wanted to train through this one.
After weeks of unseasonably warm weather, we had a cold snap. I had to shake the moths out of my arm warmers.
I got to the race earlier than normal because I was scheduled to run three miles both before and after the race. There was some congestion heading in to the school, and I only had time to run two.
