Run
Comments: I entered this race because I had been training to PR Baltimore in mid October, then got very sick the week before the race. This was basically a "redemption" race because I really wanted a PR. The course was scenic but somewhat boring. This marathon had only 105 finishers so it was very very low key. Very different than Baltimore a month before. It was well run and fun, though. I started out a (too) fast pace, and tried to hold it as long as I could. I felt pretty good through half, but started to fade. I'm not sure if the mile splits will past below but I'm going to try: Time Distance Split pace Avg. HR Max. Post race
Warm down: Not too much - grabbed a shirt / jacket to warm up and some of the post race food. It was pretty sparse because the race was so small, but that was OK> What limited your ability to perform faster: Poor pacing and the start of my eventual hamstring / back issue. Event comments: This was a fun little race. It was pretty much the antithesis of a "big city" race. But it was a fun change of pace. The course was flat and pretty, if not a little boring. This was one of the first marathons where I kinda wished I had some tunes. Last updated: 2012-10-31 12:00 AM

Not too much - just woke up early and drove out to Craderock for the race. I wasn't sure what to wear, since it was cold (~45) but one of my biggest problems is that I usually get too hot. I went with sleeveless shirt and gloves. I took the gloves off at half.
Mild stretching and loosening up.
