Swim
Comments: tore my wet suit where the zipper connects to suit at small of back, not a bad tear and never was an issue while swimming, just something I will have to repair before it gets worse. It was a difficult swim, large group with more then one age group, lots of smacking and kicking, but thats what makes it a "contact" sport :) What would you do differently?: need to consider taking a swim lesson and putting more time in the water. but I will take 21 minutes. Transition 1
Comments: wet suit strippers are GREAT, I hope they are at every race I do, because they really do save time and energy. took a little to much time cleaning sand off feet, but I would rather take an extra 30 seconds and get them clean. What would you do differently?: not sure but I need to pick up the pace a little. Bike
Comments: bike is my strong discipline and I love cruising at a nice pace. shipped bike down via Fedex everything made is in one piece bike performed great as did engine. What would you do differently?: maybe push a little harder, but I felt both legs cramping, inner thighs and calves on second loop so I back off a little for the run. Transition 2
Comments: T2 wasn't bad I ended up taking some extra time to stretch my calves after getting sneakers on. this probably added 40 seconds. What would you do differently?: hopefully not at to stretch for cramps. Run
Comments: first mile was rough, breathing was ok legs needed time to get into run mode. Was able to pickup the pace a hair on second mile, but just couldn't get myself to go any faster, an 8:30 to 8:45 would have been more my time frame but it just wasn't there. What would you do differently?: train more. Hurricane Sandy ruined much of the training I was doing up here in NJ Post race
Warm down: Water, banana orange water, MARGARITA BEER :) What limited your ability to perform faster: lack of time to train Event comments: Amazing location for a race, this was our first time to Key West and will be back next year. I hoping for a sub 1:35:00 and ended with a 1:35:28 so I am very happy with the result especially considering the lack of time to train for this race with Hurricane Sandy. I was even happier to introduce my wife to her first Triathlon and she did GREAT!! Last updated: 2012-12-03 12:00 AM

4am wake up, water banana yogurt, more water, coffee. headed over to transition about 5ish found our rack. My wife's first Tri and she was in the same rack with me. I think this was helpful for her as I was able to help her setup and relax a bit.
light jog, stretches push-ups bur-pee's etc. more water some gatorade and a goo. lots of trips to the bathroom. Transition area was a little confusing with entrance and exits, but once I got the layout it seemed fine.
