Comments:

They put dye in this lake so it doesn't look at all like water. Lakes are supposed to be brown, not greenish/blue. Felt like I was swimming in an aquarium, just a horrible lake.

I swam and ran the relay legs for this race, so Richard Underwood road a great bike leg...therefore, I got to sit around while he rode.

Felt strong. Plenty of people to pass since I was in the relay leg. I was passed by one person and he was this chubby twenty-something year old. How does that happen?
What would you do differently?:

Probably would have tripped the younger guy that passed me:)

Warm down:

Road 25 miles back into town, so I essentially completed the entire race, just got to rest between each leg.

Event comments:

This race is nice because it's an open water swim, but the lake is man-made so it tastes like shit. The only other lake worse than Sahuarita was Firebird and they race motorboats in that puddle. Regardless, it supports the local triathlon scene, so all the usual suspects are hanging out and chatting each other. Lots of fun and I didn't have to pay for it.
