Swim
Comments: Not the best feeling swim for me. I decided to try swimming while wearing my tri top, since it was hard to put on last time in T1 while I was wet. Not sure how much time it actually added, but it felt terrible. I just felt like it was dragging me down the whole swim. I think our time also included the run to transition, which was up a hill. What would you do differently?: Don't wear a loose tri top during the swim! The time saved in transition is not worth it! Transition 1
Comments: First T1 with cycling shoes. Since I was already wearing my tri top, all I had to do was drop my cap/goggles, put on helmet, throw on the shoes, and run out. Passed a few people in here, and that felt great! Looked it up, and I had the fastest overall T1 time! Woot! What would you do differently?: ??? Maybe I need to learn to start with my shoes already on the bike? Hard to say... Bike
Comments: So it definitely felt easier with the new pedals, and a bit faster too. Still need to work on getting clipped in quickly, but that was only an issue for the first few seconds. What would you do differently?: Be faster? Transition 2
Comments: My wife was near my spot and talking to me during transition, which was a little weird. I maybe wasted a few extra seconds because of that, but I was still pretty quick getting out of there. The guy racked next to me was taking his time, he was there before me and still there after, and didn't really look like he had made much/any progress, but whatevs. I dismounted with my cycling shoes on, ran with them to my spot, and then switched shoes (and put on socks for the run) after I racked my bike and took helmet off. What would you do differently?: Running in the cycling shoes was a little bit... clunky. For bigger transition areas this isn't going to work very well, so I need to figure out how to dismount with the shoes still attached. That'll come later... Run
Comments: Great run for me! I felt horrible and kept wanting to stop, but kept convincing myself that I could walk after the next turn, or the next mile marker, and so I just kept pushing myself further and further. Rewarded myself with walking but only at the water stops and only for a few seconds each. What would you do differently?: ??? Not sure. This is about where my run fitness is right now, and not too far off my 10K PR... Post race
Warm down: Walked around, got some food. Event comments: This was a really fun race. The smallest tri I've done so far, but I liked it. Last updated: 2013-02-14 12:00 AM

Stayed at the race hotel. Walked to the start, set up my transition, walked back to the hotel to get some water.
Had to walk about .25 mile to the swim start. Does that count as a warmup?
