Swim
Comments: The chop really surprised me. Had trouble breathing, and sighting. The water was really murky, you couldn't see anything in the water, even the feet of the person ahead of you were not visible until they kicked you. What would you do differently?: Try to draft better. Find someone to follow. Practice more bilateral breathing. Transition 1
Comments: T1 was an experience. I did not wear a wetsuit, so I didn't have to get out of one. Still had to get shirt, bike shoes and helmet on. It was a challenge. I need to learn how to deal with putting on a shirt when I am wet. Or maybe avoid the problem. What would you do differently?: I think a wetsuit has been added to my wish list. I need to solve the problem of putting a shirt on when wet. Either learn how, or avoid the problem somehow. Bike
Comments: I was happy with my bike performance. I passed more people than passed me. What would you do differently?: New bike? Take water, I decided not to for the sprint. Transition 2
Comments: I thought this transition went well. I did not remove feet from shoes while riding, but I didn't intend to. My road shoes make this more difficult than tri shoes would. What would you do differently?: Speed laces might be nice in the shoes. Run
Comments: The first 2k were tough. Then a water station out of water was a disappointment. Over all I was happy with the run. What would you do differently?: Practice bricks!! Post race
Warm down: walked around, drinking water and stretching, petted my dogs. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of training the last few weeks. (partially due to being really busy at work and home, partially intended to try to rest my hip. It seemed to work, my hip did not bother me during the race.) Event comments: My first triathlon! I had fun, and hope to be back to better my time in the future. Last updated: 2006-06-19 12:00 AM
