Swim
Comments: I had est. a 8:20 swim which was about right, but some of the people that started in front of me must have lied about their times, I passed at least 4 or 5 people during the swim which slowed me down quite a bit. Transition 1
Comments: I had a little trouble clipping in. What would you do differently?: I should have eaten a gel or taken one for the bike leg. Bike
Comments: I wanted a 20mph avg for this 9 miles, but I didn't get started fast enough. Also, on one turn the police didn't stop the traffic and a couple of us had to get off of our bikes and run across the grass because an 18-wheeler was turning right and he had the street blocked where we couldn't turn right. I passed several people on the bike and wasn't passed (that was my real goal to not get passed). What would you do differently?: I should have taken my gel on the bike, I waited to eat one at T2 and it didn't kick in till the last mile of the run. Transition 2
Comments: OK T2, except I left my gel flask open and when I got done with the race my Accel Gel was all in my bag. Run
Comments: I should have pushed harder, but I still don't want to push too hard on my heel, it is doing real well and don't want to hurt it with a little tri like this, I have already sent my money in for the HIM in just one month. Post race
Warm down: Walked around talked with a few people. Grabbed some Powerbars and Accel Gels for my training rides/runs and waited till the last bike came in so I could leave. What limited your ability to perform faster: Plantar Fasciites (or still recovering) and don't want to mess things up with a sprint distance tri. Last updated: 2006-06-20 12:00 AM

Got up around 5am - ate 2 boiled eggs and toast. Drove to Temple walked around chatted with some people I know, ate a Powerbar and then stood in line waiting for my time to start.
Not really any warm up. I did stretch a little.
