Swim
Comments: Water temp 16C, air temp 8C, wetsuit mandatory. A bit too cold for me. Even with my long sleeve wetsuit and long sleeve swimsuit underneath, I was shivering all throughtout before the start. According to my watch, pace is 2:18. Offical time includes run up to transition. What would you do differently?: Do the Du instead Transition 1
Comments: Took time to put on vest Bike
Comments: Worst bike ever! Fell 5 times just mounting bike, couldn't clip in, couldn't balance, couldn't hold a straight line. Excluding the mounting fiasco, my Garmin says speed is 22kph, slowest ever in 15+ yrs of tri-ing. Weather just too cold, too windy for my type. Like in Vancouver, my body just shuts down under these conditions. HR relatively low, my body just didn't want to respond. Transition 2
Run
Comments: According to my Garmin, pace is 9:16/mi or 5:45/km. What would you do differently?: Do the Du instead Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Weather too cold and too windy for my body type. Event comments: Worst race since Vancouver Worlds, but at least I didn't get hypothermia. Weather just too cold, too windy for my type. Should have just done the du instead. Funny thing is, I didn't feel too cold like in Vancouver. I guess I'm like a cold battery, just don't work so well in cold weather. Hubby took some nice pix though. Last updated: 2013-05-01 12:00 AM
