Run
Comments: Corral B was a big improvement over last year. Seemed to move at my pace. Didn't have to dodge anyone. Went out a little faster than I thought I would. Just ran based on feel. HR monitor battery died, which was probably for the best. Splits were pretty consistent through mile 10. Slowed on Birmingham Bridge. Started to lose energy on final uphill section. Biggest complaint was feet? Shoes felt hot. Kept running, albeit slowly, up hill. Got some energy on the downhill and ran fastest mile split for mile 13. What would you do differently?: Push harder toward the end. Probably had a little more gas, but overall solid effort. Post race
Warm down: Just got medal, picture, roll and water. Walked to grassy area in the park and stretched a little. Line for massages was long. Went to office and changed and went home. What limited your ability to perform faster: Probably could have done more race pace efforts. Strengthening would probably have helped, but really felt no particular weakness and had no injury. Event comments: Drink stations are definitely spread out. Glad I took my hand bottle. Only filled it halfway once compared to three times in last year's heat. Last updated: 2013-05-05 12:00 AM

Woke up at 4:30. Ate cereal, and small scone, and a little muffin. Took bottle with Infinit. Trolley downtown. Dropped warm clothes and dry clothes to change into in my office. Went down to corral B at 6:30 before it closed at 6:45. Security was different than last year due to Boston bombings. Needed a bib to get near the corrals.
Really just moved in place during national anthem and various announcements.
