Pre-race routine:

Drive from Burlington to Ennismore - 2.5 hours
Ate same as usual - oatmeal with fruits; PB on grain flat bread
picked up McD coffee and got pumped
Event warmup:

met team mate from club
quick run back and forth to car parked ~ 1k away
swam ~ 2 minutes to get going

Again panicked on way back
was in pack for a while but got out as uncivilised swimmers... watch out for board short swimmers in mass start
What would you do differently?:

get out of pack at onset and find legs as I get caught

That was a fast ride for me - 36kph average
Cadence was around 90 all the way
passed all riders - did not get passed

T1- T2 were added to bike time

What would you do differently?:

get out of water faster so I can have more time to stay ahead on rub

I got passed again - once in transition - guy was very fast - caught him on bike at 18k

got passed second time by a 'quick' guy that I could not keep up with

More speed work off the bike

Warm down:

waited for Sam to come in
spoke to RB who is on rest week in preparation for IM Louisville - RB is an amazing individual who has live with a spinal cord injury for 5 years now
I did a recovery ride on Monday - 40k of rolling hills in this beautiful part of the province

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Got spooked on the swim again
fast runners
Getting better at workigng harder during run despite being passed

Event comments:

For a small - fund raising - venue this is a great one to do
I would recommend it

if schedule permits - I am in for next year
