Pre-race routine:

Left a little late as family chose not to come due to possibility of thunder storm and high humidity
Got organized and packed - of course too organised to forget a bottle of water with Carbo Pro in it for pre-race drink during drive

Event warmup:

Got organized at transition
Saw a few friends
Went for a short swim - water was murky yet again
scouted out the competition - looking good

Big group and got jammed on last stretch so lost some time as I had to navigate through 'breast strokers' from the first wave - I was in the 3rd wave

This run always surprises me every year - can;t seem to get a rhythm until the turn around
got passed by a short gazelle at the 1K mark -could not keep up

The run again - but i can only control what I can do - not what other people do
I know what I have to work on - which I will do

Event comments:

Favourite end of season feel good race
Got 2nd in AG which is what I expected as i knew my last few weeks were not as well managed - training / sleep / stress
