Swim
Comments: total panic, I almost quit after the 1st 5 minutes in the water. It was terrible. I ended up doing the back stroke for 2/3s of the swim. It was just so long. What would you do differently?: I will never do this long of a distance again, I just don't do that well. Transition 1
Comments: It took longer since I wore socks this race due to having the insert in my right shoe, it would have caused blisters without the socks. What would you do differently?: nothing different Bike
Comments: the bike went as expected. it was good on the 1st lap since I was amoungst the sprint riders. on the second lap I was out there by myself. What would you do differently?: get stronger to do better on the hills Transition 2
Comments: I ride in my running shoe so it saves time in T2 What would you do differently?: nothing Run
Comments: this was brutal. I ran all of the 1st loop except at the 2 aid stations. I ended up walking about 1/3 of the 2nd loop. I hurt and I was hot and I was tired. What would you do differently?: if I hadn't injured my foot 5 weeks ago I would have run more and further. That is the 1st time I had run a 10 K. I had only ran 5 miles in practice. Post race
Warm down: I was DONE at the end I broke down and sobbed. I walked around some and got some water. What limited your ability to perform faster: I was limited in strength having had the last 6 weeks to nurse a stress fracture in my right foot. I paniced in th swim, I don't know what I can do to get over that. Last updated: 2013-08-11 12:00 AM
