Run
Comments: what can i say after barely finishing a Full Marathon last week I should not even be on the starting line , then again i dont want to DNS. Cut off is 4:00 to be an official finisher thats 18:00 min/mile. I can walk faster than that so my realistic objective is survive the race. After waiting for our coral to start i tried to jog , again the pain at the top of my foot started again. I know it will take atleast an hour to subside. I tried to jog i felt theres no running leg power all i can do is walk fast , i have no idea how fast of a walker i can be i know my normal mall walking is 20 min/ mile. At the first mile it too me under 15min i am very slow but enough to finish. every mi i tried to jog but theres no power just energy to finish. I just took it mile after mile until its the 9th mile i know i can finish this race, eventually i saw the finish line and glad it was over , received my well deserved medal and was able to ave. 15 min/mile . This is my worst HM PR , but its a learning experience if ever on my worst half iron experience i know how to deal with it. What would you do differently?: Nothing else i can do should not have registered in the first place its a bad idea to do a back to back Mary and HM, i will not do this again need to plan my races carefully. Post race
Warm down: i just grabbed my finisher shirt ate breakfast , bananas and water. I still feel ok but my legs are weak. This time i need some serious recovery. What limited your ability to perform faster: Me Event comments: i would say my only comment is i did not see any gels in the stations , im glad i brought my own. Last updated: 2013-10-20 12:00 AM

Just a background this race was a lottery entry i registered since its the most popular in town and i am not counting on getting in. I just finished a Full Mary a week before.
Was not able to get some sleep again. i was babysitting my son at the hospital sick from pneumonia. My have enough sleep to take care of my son. I got ready at 3 am took a shower my gear is ready as usual i just brought gels.
i did the best basic stretches i can do, the runners stayed indoors in a big hall to stay warm portalets are also inside and stretching area and so as the gear bag check-in. 10 min slow walk to the start corals.
