Run
Comments: I didn't hear any command indicating we were about to start - just all of a sudden we were moving. I started pretty far back (near the library) as I wasn't expecting to be very fast. I thought the turkey on my head would bother me, but it really didn't. I just tried to run fairly even and tried not to get too caught up in the "racing." This was the furthest I had run since the marathon! What would you do differently?: Not be injured and run more mileage beforehand, but really it's just a fun family event for Thanksgiving morning. Post race
Warm down: My job was to go back to the house to get our warm clothes, so I doubled back after the finish line and made a bee-line to the house and back with everybody's warm gear (and then we waited for Mother!). What limited your ability to perform faster: Injury Event comments: This has turned into a big deal for little Sayre. It's fun to have an event like this in our backyard (though I still would like to Run for the Diamonds again someday). Last updated: 2013-12-02 12:00 AM

We met at the old house to get our turkey hats on and get our bibs that Leslie had picked up the night before. It was nice being where it was warm and to have a private restroom with such cold weather. We're taking bets as to whether or not we'll still be there next year!
Just walking over to the start and bouncing around trying to stay warm before the start.
