Swim
Comments: Wasn't nervous for the swim at all, just set out wanting to "complete" entire swim freestyle & not get passed by the people behind me. What would you do differently?: I probably could have went faster, as I had much left over for the last 100, & tried to catch the person 20 meters ahead of me. Kind of crazy, since there was only 50 meters left Transition 1
Comments: Took my time to let the heart rate settle down after speeding up the last part of the swim, & a guy by my bike asking me which part of the Tri was my least favorite. Bike
Comments: Not much time on the bike the past month really showed. What would you do differently?: Get on the bike more in the weeks preceding. Transition 2
Comments: Slipped out of shoes before heading into transition area really helped. This transition went really smooth. Was warned by my daughter that it was hot & humid compared to what we're used to, so poured some cold water over my head Run
Comments: Used every drink station to mainly pour water over me. Thought I felt hot, but evidently not as bad as the people I passed. Humidity prbly got to me somewhat, as our part of the state is hot, but really dry. What would you do differently?: Go faster, fel like I was just plodding along. Post race
Warm down: Walked around & ate a banana & drank some water What limited your ability to perform faster: The last 2-3 weeks, with everything else going on in my life, I had really cut back on the running & cycling. I had changed my goal of having the best Tri of the season, to just completely finishing the swim freestyle, & having a good time on the bike & run. It is kind of fun to visit a little sometimes when you come up to someone on the run. Event comments: Plan on returning next year, with my wife also completing. Hopefully will the the BT group pic & some more pics posted tonite. Last updated: 2006-07-14 12:00 AM

Had a bagel & water pretty early about 530 am. Packed & checked bikes, since I didn't have time the night before.
Water was warm, so didn't spend much time warming up. Used the time waiting for the time trial start to meet a bunch of BT'rs that were at the event. Had a great social hour while watching the faster swimmers start.
Dang you Eric, now I want to sell my Polar 710 & Garmin 201 & get the 305 now that I've seen it.
