Swim
Comments: This was supposed to be 1500 meters but everyone with a GPS was measuring it at 1.2 miles. Also, the swim took place in the Pamlico River which is a tidal river. The tide was going out as we were swimming in. That is not to say that I had a stellar swim, clearly compared to my peers I did not. I left some work to do on the bike and run! The water was flat, pleasantly brackish and clean. We dodged crab pots on the course! What would you do differently?: Continue to work on my swimming Transition 1
Comments: Decent transition. I put on socks for the bike/run segments. I figure that this is all practice for Chattanooga and I will be wearing socks there. Bike
Comments: Nice bike course once we got off of 264. I didn't like the road or the traffic or the headwind on 264. The rest of the course was on very rural roads. Lots of turns. What would you do differently?: Swim faster Transition 2
Comments: I actually felt fine with my transition but compared to my peers, well, I do think that I need to find a way to speed this up a bit. Run
Comments: I enjoyed the run. Several sections had a decent amount of shade so I didn't get too too hot. It was 82 and extremely humid when we finished the race. The double out and back made it nice to see other racers and cheer each other on. I saw Maria M., David and Candice C., Spot, Manuel and several others. This is probably the best that I've felt in a triathlon run. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Both the bike and run were pretty good among all women competing too so it really is just the swim but this is not news. It’s not even that I don’t like swimming! Event comments: FSSeries always puts on a quality, friendly event. Last updated: 2014-03-03 12:00 AM
