Swim
Comments: I was in the last wave (5) and was able to catch a few people in the two waves before me. That never happens so I was pretty excited. Swim time included getting out of the water on a ladder, walking the pier and the timing mat was at the transition. Didn't want to slip on wet slick bricks so I walked that all. What would you do differently?: Get control of my breathing. Transition 1
Comments: The timing chip was the biggest I'd ever seen. I could not get my wetsuit over it. Very frustrating but I conquered. What would you do differently?: Keep my timing chip insinde the leg. Bike
Comments: Felt so great to pass tons of people. I encouraged others along the way. Had a bunch of water on the bike and a gel. What would you do differently?: Spin my legs faster. Transition 2
Comments: Don't have the quick laces so I actually had to tie my shoes. Ran with my visor instead of putting it on in transition. What would you do differently?: Get some quick laces. Run
Comments: Feet were numb off the bike but I made them move. I knew the run was a bit longer than a 5k and went out with all I could muster. When I had about a mile left I picked up the pace some more. What would you do differently?: Run faster Post race
Warm down: Had a water and walked around. I saw the plaques for OA female and male winners so asked if I should stick around for division winner. They said yet. I waited for my name and it was never called. Some glitch in the system gave the Rudy Project sunglasses for 40-99 winner to another woman. All was worked out and I was giving the winner status. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing. I'm very happy. Event comments: I couldn't give it a 5 because of the timing mix up but I will do it again if I am up there next year. I was staying at my sisters lake home so I was actually able to just ride my bike over to transition. It was a couple of miles so it was a nice warm up.
