Swim
Comments: Course was definitely long. Very controlled swim. Strong north wind put some chop on the water but breathing left made it better. What would you do differently?: Could have pushed it harder but felt like a solid swim Transition 1
Comments: Pretty average....always could save a few seconds somewhere Bike
Comments: Wind certainly kept things interesting. Maintained a pretty steady pace/power with AP/NP both in low 250s most of the way. Transition 2
Comments: Somehow my visor had gotten under the leg of the rack. I really couldn't figure out what to do....everything is usually so automatic in transition. I picked up the rack and pulled the visor out....not that I needed it as wind kept trying to blow it off my head What would you do differently?: Bail on the visor...lost a few seconds here Run
Comments: I hit the wrong button on my watch so didn't get my mile splits. I just kept checking my pace as I was hoping to break 20 min for the first time in a triathlon 5k. Pushed the last 1/2 mile or so and was pleased when results were posted that I had finally done it. Sore ankle held up and didn't even notice it on the run. Post race
Warm down: Cool down run with team mate and massage. Hung around and had some great food and drink while visiting with friends and team mates. Beautiful but windy day at Pensacola Beach. Team mate bumped up to win masters so I ended up winning grandmasters and taking home a coveted TIKI. I felt mentally and physically sharp for this race. Previous 3 races I had been less than 100% and felt a litte burned out. What limited your ability to perform faster: Certainly feel like my time would have been quicker on the bike without the brutal crosswind but I did what I could and stayed in control Event comments: Always a great race that draws a big crowd. Beautiful venue for racing and post race fun! Last updated: 2014-10-29 12:00 AM

Last race of the season so hoping to finish strong after heading into previous 3 races at less than 100%. Up early for the drive over with usual breakfast.
Set up and visited with friends. Got in about a 1 mile warm up run then did a few hundred yards in the Gulf before my wave went off. Water was warm but north wind made it chilly waiting for swim wave to go off,
