Pre-race routine:

Drove two hours to Medical Lake. Ate a bagel with ham and cream cheese on the way. When I got there, set up, and wiped the road grime off my bike with baby wipes.
Event warmup:

Walked around a bit and talked to people. It was warm, and then cold, and then it started to get windy and rainy, so I put on my wetsuit to keep dry. And then it got warm again.

Don't know what happened, but couldn't get into my rhythm the first half of the swim. Had to swim with my head above water. Finally controlled my breathing enough to put my head down and swim. Rank: 96/117. Median time: 7:48.

Do a practice swim and also visual swimming as we're getting ready.
