Swim
Comments: there were some fast runners! I was some of the 5K times with 2 peeps sub 5:20 pace and another 7 or 8 below 7:05 pace! I ran in my cut shoes and had my race belt on as all runners had to and almost everyone just kept them on for the bike. About a dozen people also ran with their bike helmets on--not kidding... https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/9356357453/1 What would you do differently?: nothing-I ran hard and that was an interesting way to start off a triathlon Transition 1
Comments: I tried to be quick; popped off the shoes/visor, put on my bike shoes, bike helmet and ran out and did a flying mount immediately clipped in and passed a few people standing at the line *(love that) What would you do differently?: nothing; moved up to 56th after this OA Bike
Comments: I tried to push steadily on the hills and got up out of the seat, went moderately hard over the top and sat and spun up to 90 cadence and settled back into aero position; repeat, repeat and repeat... https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/9356357453/3 What would you do differently?: nothing Transition 2
Comments: racked the bike while chucking off the bike shoes which I had loosened up, grabbed my visor, wiped my face with the towel and put on my Nike shoes. It always takes me a few seconds to get the feet in-even with speed laces, but got them on and jogged off towards the run ex; I was 34th OA in this transition-so it wasn't as bad as I thought and I was in 6th place OA after T2 but those runners were coming for me... What would you do differently?: tell myself to' go fast, go fast, get out of there' Run
Comments: I always know in wave starts that placing doesn't take into place the fact there is no one around you and you have to go hard all the way to the line. Sure enough, got beat by one second for 9th OA...ug. https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/9356357453/5 What would you do differently?: not much really, I was happy with the effort overall Post race
Warm down: waited forever for awards, got 1AG and a nice mug. https://www.secondwindtiming.com/result-page/?id=214149#2_09C512 What limited your ability to perform faster: Limited run training Event comments: This has been around for a very, very long time and is quoted as being NE's longest running triathlon-this was the 38th year. Lots of support and it seems the entire town of Greenville supports this race. I enjoyed it very much Last updated: 2022-06-28 12:00 AM

same as always-get up before the alarm, get coffee, take a shower/drink boost/eat bananna and pop tart, go to the BR; pack up bike and triathlon stuff, checkout and drive to the venue
none-there was no swim so I just stretched and tried to stay relaxed, jogged for about 2 minutes while running back from the car
