Run
Comments: It was windy and I was not able to stay protected at all-just in 'no man's land'. Super great to run into Tony and Dave and we chatted a bit and they both blew by me like I was standing still. What would you do differently?: Nothing to do except put in more miles and lighten the body. Resembling a tanker truck will not help. Post race
Warm down: My warm down these days is sitting on the rocks eating a bagel. What limited your ability to perform faster: Being old and not in ideal shape. Event comments: This is a great race and very local for me-only 4 miles from my house. It is right on my usual bike/run routes and on my way to work. I've seen the signs advertising this race for a month. Very organized, on time and weather was perfect-except for the wind. Saw some old faces I knew and had a blast. Highly recommended. Stretched in shower, ate my usual 300-400 calories; pop tart/RK treat/ coffee/BR
sipped on G2 w nuun; went to registration and dressed for warmup
had yellow socks/nike zoom x shoes; race belt; visor; sleeveless yellow shirt, LS red shirt; gloves, wrist band, Garmin 935, HR chest strap; did 1.5 miles in total with 2x30 sec pickup to race pace (7:30) , then 1 min at tempo pace (7:45), felt tight, very humid air and windy--not a PR day
