Tried to keep my effort contained to save something for the run but felt the fatigue at mile 9. Those rollers and the 2 mile climb to start got the best of me. Oh well.

Comments:

Legs were spent and only had a single gear. Goal became to just keep running. Mental toughness was tested with the climb out of the marina but kept grinding. Wasn't a great pace but I reached the finish in one piece. Best thing to come from the run was my ability to unknowingly pace a 61 year guy around the course.

Event comments:

Second time doing this race. Well run and organized. Lots of rolling hills and a few climbs early in the bike and run.

Didn't have the endurance base to compete but wanted to race once this season. Made the most of the day and stayed in the moment
