Run
Comments: Nice run, the pace was a little quickier than I had expected. What would you do differently?: Should have started much closer the front, have a tendency to start near the back and let the faster people go first, next time will start near the front and they can run around me. Transition 1
What would you do differently?: Need to work on bunch riding (the race was draft legal) and getting used to racing in an aero position. Will look at a proper Tri bike fitting at the LBS and work on that before the first tri of the summer season (Nov 5th). Bike

Post race
Warm down: Warm down consisted mainly of stretching and walking back to the car followed by beer and pizza at prize giving. What limited your ability to perform faster: Was really pleased with the race, I had planned on about 1hr 45m so was stoked with the actual timing. Event comments: As a club we came second overall in the North Island interclub duathlon champs. Last updated: 2006-09-22 12:00 AM

Drove down to Rotorua in the morning from Auckland, nice easy drive stopped for a coffee at the usual Cafe in Matamata (Hobbiton).
Checked bike, lubed chain, went for a quick spin to check out the course. Tried the aerobars (still finding the bike too twitchy so decided not to use in race) and a couple of real short runs along with some stretching in the transition area.
