Swim
Comments: I should have done better in the swim could have cut 5+ minutes if I could have swam straight and not have a side stitch. Swimming in a full wetsuit was nice and getting out of the Desoto is a sinch What would you do differently?: Swimming in a full wetsuit was nice and getting out of the Desoto is a synch. Transition 1
Comments: Had to pee like a race horse and could do it during the swim so I had to wait in line to go and that took 4 minutes or more. Wetsuit came of so easy it was nice. I was able to take the top off, cap and goggles on the run into t2. Bottoms came off in seconds. What would you do differently?: Not need to pee so bad before getting on the bike. Need to put baby powder in socks so they will gon better. Bike
Comments: What a great ride. I had a great ride out to the 1/2 way mark averaged 21.5 mph at that point and then we turned in to the wind and the rollers showed up. Nutrition on the bike was spot on never felt depleted and it was great to have Hammers heed on the course. T2 time is included in the bike time. What would you do differently?: Need to work on endurance and hills. Got tired of powering up the rollers into the wind on the back half of the course. Lost a lot of time on the back half. Transition 2
Comments: A little slow just took my time I wasn't in a rush to start my run. Had to find my stuff under others crap. Shoes went on fast and a changed top was a great reward after having the sweaty jersey on for most of the bike. The jersey must have weighed at least 5 pounds from sweat. What would you do differently?: a little faster!!! Run
Comments: A death march would have been a great discription of theis run. It was hot, hot , hot way to damn hot for a run. I didn't take in enough gel and H2O during the first 1/2 of the run and started to make up for it in the second 1/2. Thank goodness they had Endurolytes on the couse, I had forgotten mine at home. What would you do differently?: More H2O and gel during the whole race, Run more and more bricks. Post race
Warm down: Walked around and cheered for the othe finishers. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nutrition on the run and short on run training. Not swimming straight. Event comments: This race was so much mental and physical. The hot temperatures play into the race so much. This was the first days of the summer and the temps had not been getting that hot yet, a major shock to the system. Meet up with Mark Rabold (titurtle) and his wife. What nice people and so much fun. It was great to finally meet them in person and get to know them better. Last updated: 2006-12-27 12:00 AM

Had carb load dinner the night before. Got up around 5:00 and started to sip some Perpetuem (3 scoops). Got all my nutrition, and suplements put togeather and headed to T1 and setup all the bike stuff.
None got in the water 3 minutes before start and waded to the start line.
