Event warmup:

jogged from pat's (devilwillride) house to the race, got there 5 minutes before the start, so no waiting around.

ran the race with pat after he had already run 7 miles with just a couple of breathers. started the race in the back so it took 15-20 seconds just to get moving, very slow walk / jog the couple minutes up the hill in traffic. mile 1 split at 9:16, started getting around slower folks, finished mile 2 split at 16:30.
What would you do differently?:

more running.

Warm down:

jogged the trails back to pat's house right after the race.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

lack of run training, especially the fartleks.
