Swim
Comments: the water was really choppy and i had a difficult time breathing. i couldn't seem to get my head out of the water enough to get a good breath. That and i kept zig zagging across the coarse. What would you do differently?: Practice open water swims i guess. that and practice upping my cadence. Transition 1
What would you do differently?: I have to find a way to get my socks on easier. Bike
Comments: I sprinted up the first hill and my heart rate hit 195 and i got sick on the side of the road. everything came up. i just felt kind of weak for the rest of the ride. no real power in my legs. the hills, even the small ones, seemed to slow me down significantly. What would you do differently?: pace myself at the beginning of the bike leg. not taking a gel right before the swim. Transition 2
Comments: this was an easy transition. i didn't get lost this time. got my bike on the rack and my shoes off and running shoes on no problem. i took my gloves on during the last half mile. What would you do differently?: get tri shoes that i can take off while i am still riding. Run
Comments: I just didn't have any power left in my legs. my quads were acheing really bad and i wasn't able to pick up the pace. What would you do differently?: practice running. actually train. Post race
Warm down: didn't have one. i sat down and tried to not die. What limited your ability to perform faster: bad training. the event was longer than i had prepared for. Event comments: though my swim was better than last year it was still poor and not worth jack. the bike leg was an embaracement, and the run was the same as walking. Last updated: 2007-02-24 12:00 AM

The race was two hours away so we left 2 1/2 hours early but we still managed to be kinda late. so i ran up and registered and had no routine what so ever.
I didn't have a warm up. I got out of the car and jumped into the water.
