Total Time = 5h 56m 43s
Overall Rank = 193/293
Age Group = 25-29
Age Group Rank = 15/18
Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 5 am, race started at 7:30. Drank a big gatorade, ate a quaker oatmeal bar, and 2 kellog's cereal bars (about 400 calories total).
Event warmup:

Wetsuit on and swam a little right before the race, no running or biking.
Swim
  • 34m 14s
  • 2112 yards
  • 01m 37s / 100 yards
Comments:

I think the swim was my best event, I thought I did well, but not too good compared to the rest of the group.
What would you do differently?:

I started in the rear of the pack and got stuck for a bit, but I don't know if it would have changed anything
Transition 1
  • 03m 49s
Comments:

I actually clipped in really fast, and passed a few people right out of the gate. The run from the swim to the bike was a long one, probably 1/4 of a mile. Overall, thought it went ok. I stopped and ate a little before the bike
What would you do differently?:

I still need to move faster, it was a conscious decision though today.
Bike
  • 3h 01m 26s
  • 56 miles
  • 18.52 mile/hr
Comments:

I averaged 19.6 mph on the first loop and felt really good about that. but on the second loop I just dropped a little, don't know why, might have been fatigue setting in. My lower back was killing me from the get go, might have stretched it out a little in the swim.
What would you do differently?:

Other than better and more training, nothing I guess. I think that better conditioning would have solved my problem
Transition 2
  • 01m 57s
Comments:

I again took my time knowingly. I was pretty tired. But I think the transition went pretty good. The race belt was great, I really liked it.
Run
  • 2h 15m 17s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 10m 20s  min/mile
Comments:

Run was horrible. This is the first race where I actually had to stop and walk, but I also had to do it multiple times. My heart rate was fine, it stuck in the upper 140's but my muscles just had nothing left. It was a struggle to witness myself run such a slow time. But I had to finish
What would you do differently?:

I just need more endurance training.
Post race
Warm down:

Sat in the shade and drank a water. Stretched after that.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of endurance
