Swim
Comments: first time in open water. I found my route to be very curvy. I think having bigger goggles will help me see the bouy and head towards it. Otherwise, swim felt ok. Transition 1
Comments: Interesting to try to run right out of the water up a hill. felt ok after a few steps. Could be faster getting shoes on and getting out of there. What would you do differently?: Drink more water Bike
Comments: Bike went well. Good recovery from swim. Slowed down up hill against the wind. Overall, this is my strongest event. Transition 2
Comments: Still getting the hang of transitions. This one felt better than the first. Again, I need to drink more water in the transition. Run
Comments: I know what my bad event is! Right out of the transition, my right calf cramped really bad. I had to stop twice to work it out. From there I was able to run it out. Mile two, my stomach began to cramp. THis kept me very slow. I need to stop and drink more water during the run. I would try to drink while moving and couldn't get very much in as would choke on it. In the future, I will stop for the moment, get sufficient water and then continue to run. Post race
Warm down: 1 mile walk What limited your ability to perform faster: water and having been in the mountains the last four weeks before the race - non-tri specific training. Event comments: Traffic too and from the race was VERY bad. This kept a lot of athletes from warming up pre race and having to wait around in the parking lot trying to get out.
