the most awful thing I have ever done. I didn't relize it until driving home after the race, but I became clausterphobic (sp?) and was hyperventelating. I barely made it to the first lifeguard surfboard. I could not catch my breath and was freaking out.
What would you do differently?:

swim more in open, murky, weedy water
