Pre-race routine:

got all gear ready and placed into tri-bag. set up everything in transition area. ran a little to warm up. stayed and felt relaxed.

although swim much better this time around, thought i would feel much stronger for this second tri due to my ability to train up to event without injury. felt strong in swim training. didn't want to go into "survival" mode, but felt as though i did. although i did more freestyle than last year, wasn't able to do freestyle throughout. I'm glad it was an improvement, but realize more work to be done. still don't see how event swim time was on par with training time.
What would you do differently?:

try more swim training to make swim event more enjoyable.

very pleased with run. passed quite a few that made it out of the water well before me. quick, short, relaxed cadence allowed for good time. local hill training kicks butt on flat event course.

improved, but still too weak swim.
