Swim
Comments: I think I did pretty good for my first mile swim with very little swim training. I was hoping to do it in 30 minutes but I was mostly alone for the swim which makes me think I may have not sighted as good as I thought. There were swimmers doing 1/2 mile that started with us and I did not want to follow them to there turning buoy so I think that is were I lost the pack. It was so beautiful today in Hanalei bay,the water crystal clear and calm, the place just magical, probably my favorite place on the island. What would you do differently?: Train for a mile swim race! Post race
Warm down: Water, orange wedge, muffin and talked with family and friends. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of training. Event comments: I really enjoyed myself and I hope this was a good fundraiser for this canoe club because I would love to do it again next year. I asked one of the race organizers if they could do another this summer but they are starting up with their race season. Last updated: 2007-07-04 12:00 AM

Coffee! Nutrigrain breakfast bars for the ride. 40 minute drive to the north shore, Yeah no traffic. I got the butterflies in my stomach only when I got there. Ate peanut butter crackers drank water took my ibuprofen for the foot. Late sign ups were at 7am, race did not start until 9:30. Play with the boys in the water and sand. Met up with Melhndi another BT'er now living in Kauai. She medaled and kick my out of shape but!
Five minute swim. Stretched.
