Swim
Comments: I did better than last year, by about 18 seconds, so that was one of my small goals that I accomplished, so I felt pretty good about the swim. I think I could have gone faster but figured it would hurt me more than help me. The guy in my lane wasn't much help, he almost ran into me on lap 2. Transition 1
Comments: This transition was disappointing. I really thought I would be able to best my time last year by a lot in the transitions. Turns out I did worse on this transition this time than last year by 4 seconds. I really wanted to be under a minute. What would you do differently?: Most of this was my mistake, I didn't have my bike shoes ready, I didn't have the velcrow undone and that's what cost me those seconds I think. I also really did bad clipping in to my bike once I jumped on. Just a bad transition overall. Bike
Comments: I thought I did much better on the bike this year. I averaged 21.5 mph, and I know I didn't do that well last year. I really think I was better, the time won't show it because I really think the course was shorter last year What would you do differently?: My clip in was awful. Transition 2
Comments: Even though my transition #1 was bad, I actually improved on this transition time. I feel really good about it, an improvement of almost 20 seconds. I left my running shoes untied this time and I think that might have been a good move judging from last triathlon (I couldn't get one shoe on very good and I wasted time trying to pry my heel in) What would you do differently?: I ran the wrong way to start out and Chris corrected me. So yeah I would have done that differently. Run
Comments: I figured I would be slower once I got off of the bike, I know I used way more energy on the bike than last year. Overall, I felt pretty good on the first half, but I tweaked my hamstring somewhere in there and my leg just felt really heavy. But, I found myself feeling like I could go harder more than a few times, so maybe I could have done better. What would you do differently?: I think I could have ran a little harder in the first half of the run. I don't know if it would have changed my time drastically though, but maybe enough to move up a few more spots. This is a race of seconds though. Post race
Warm down: I drank some gatorade and ate a danish. Stretched a little after that. Last updated: 2007-08-09 12:00 AM

None. Stretched for a few minutes and swam a little right before the heat started.
