Swim
Comments: The water temperature was very nice with the wet suit. Tried to get into the thick of the group to practice for St. Anthony's which I heard is quite crowded in the swim. Well, I didn't seem to be getting anywhere and moved to the outside. I looked up after a while and was swimming the wrong direction! I was by myself! To the far left was the pack. Swam back towards the pack at an angle. Looking at my GPS I was zigging and zagging like a snake on the first leg of the swim. The second and third legs of the triangle swim were a bit better. I felt I should of easily averaged at least 2:00 min/100 yards, but failure to swim straight and settling down at the beginning was probably costly. It was a triangle course and I started to the inside of the first leg. Maybe try the outside next time. I need to practice sighting!! What would you do differently?: Practice sighting as part of training. Transition 1
Comments: I thought it was pretty good, but looking at my time for my age group it was not average. My shoes were rubber banded to the frame. I popped on my sun glasses and helmet and unmounted the bike easily. Around 2:00 minutes would be average. Maybe I was a bit too slow on the run back or maybe the wet suit around the ankles. I don't remember people passing me on the run back to the T1 from the swim. Don't get too much wet suit removal practice. What would you do differently?: Maybe practice wet suit removal. Bike
Comments: Biked hard and passed some riders out and many on the way back. I figured I needed to make up some for the swim Was a bit winded at the end, wanted to dismount with both legs on one side, but felt it wasn't safe so I removed my feet from shoes while moving, but braked with both feet on the top of the shoes. While drinking my electrolyte drink I was getting chunks of electrolyte crystal that were not de-solved. Ugh! What would you do differently?: Pre mix electrolyte at home add at race. Drink about 16oz's instead of 24oz's for a Sprint with these conditions. Sloshing on the run. Transition 2
Comments: I think this went pretty good too! But, have no accurate timing info to verify. I started my watch a bit soon and the race results have not T2! What would you do differently?: Don't hit the Garmin lap button when removing the computer from the bike. Run
Comments: At the start I was a bit winded needed to settle in and get my running breathing on pace. Also had a bit of sloshing in the stomach, need drink less on the bike gven the conditions. After I settled in I should of pushed a little harder earlier. I feel I could of done better. What would you do differently?: Should of pushed it at about 1.25 - 1.5 Miles. Post race
Warm down: Walked around a bit. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lots of beginning season mistakes: Skills: Sighting Wet Suit Removal Mental: Strategy: Run Equipment: Watch the Garmin buttons when snapping on/off bike bracket and onto the watch band. Event comments: Nice venue. Well organized. Last updated: 2007-11-10 12:00 AM

Had everything packed the night before just needed to place it in the truck.
Got up a bit late, 5:45!
Downed a cup coffee and a yogurt.
Arrived at the race at 7A.M.
Pulled items together and set-up transition area.
Notes:
*) DO NOT place electrolyte powder into Profile Aero bottled and try to mix at race site. Do this at home in another container and when at race add to profile container. More about this on the bike notes.
*) Get there at least an hour and half before race to set up and warm up!
None!
Don't know where the time went!
I thought an hour would be plenty of time, but ended up running to the swim!
Should at the very minimum do a mile run with some race intensity glides in the mile.
