Pre-race routine:

Toast with PB&J, and a banana. Heavy stretches.
Event warmup:

Good stretches. Was cold as crap, but did what I could. Had to plan stretches around getting everyone moving through crowds and getting bib etc. Bri's Mom and family was there to watch her in her firt race, so there was extra effort in making sure everyone was staying together.

Comments:

40/47, 292/390... This one was not about placing in anything.. Was about runnign my first race of the year, doing it with my Brother, having a good time, and not coming in DFL... Good sub 11 pace, "Steady as she goes", and enjoy the run.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, I had a great time collecting a new shirt!
Post race
Warm down:

Stretched where I could, but with Hurricane "What the Hell" pressing down us, adn wanting to see my daughter complete her first 5k, I was all up in the moment.
At home, stretched for 30, working core muscles, main areas in legs, calves and shins. Little ice, followed by a shower later on.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My need to pace and enjoy the morning. Was :02 of my PR, so I will break it (Shatter is more like it) on my next 5k...

Event comments:

Great Race, windy but great! Was organized well, good number fo vendors on site. Could have improved the take-off by staggering, or making the start zone wider. Other than that, I will be running it next year!

Performance: Good
COMPLETELY forgot my HR monitor at the house, so I was just kind of going with the flow, and giving the body a check if I thought I was pushing it. Held a nice steady easy pace all the way through the race, so I had no issues in feeling like I was pushing it!
Course: Little hilly, wind was blowing like a friggin Cat 3 was somewhere nearby. Swear I saw a cow! (Movie Twister Reference). Start of race mingled 5k and 13.1 folks together, so even after crossing the mat it made for a slow start for about the first 200yds or so.
