Swim
Comments: I had the mindset of wanting to survive the swim instead of trying to be aggresive with it. I did not want to have a problem early in the race. What would you do differently?: I would be more aggresive with the swim, stay closer to the buoys. Transition 1
Comments: I put my bike shoes on at the rack and that worked well for me this time. What would you do differently?: Nothing Bike
Comments: Enjoyed the bike leg the most. I felt ready for the bike and was able to push myself during this part. I was hoping to break 3 hours and was real excited with my time. What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 2
Comments: I did not have a great transition, but it was decent. I stopped in the trasition area to use the port-o-let. What would you do differently?: I would have urinated on the bike, which would have saved me around 1-2 minutes. Run
Comments: I felt great off of the bike, ran first mile at 7:55 pace and decided that I should slow down since this was my first 70.3. I enjoyed the run very much until mile 10. It seemed like the 10 mile marker was a moving target, then 11 came easier, but 12 was again very tough. I did the whole 13.1 without walking and was very happy with that. What would you do differently?: Nothing, the run was great Post race
Warm down: Walked around, drank gatorade, then ate the meal. What limited your ability to perform faster: My swim was much worse than I anticipated. I believe I swam much more than the course due to poor navigation. Event comments: This was my first 70.3 during my first season of triathlons. I enjoyed this race. Last updated: 2008-05-08 12:00 AM
