Swim
Comments: Confusion on the start sucked, got kicked a few times, felt like chip waws coming off. What would you do differently?: Safety Pin my chip on for piece of mind. Transition 1
Comments: Had two issues during T1: 1) Velco tensioner on the back of the helmet got ripped out, so I had to replace. 2) Had to rewrap my time chip. If I did not have to do those things, it would have been an Average time. I did not care either way. What would you do differently?: Not put on socks, and get better abs/stomach so I do not have to wear a cycling jersey. And dry off faster. Bike
Comments: Think I did well the entire way on the bike, felt great! What would you do differently?: Of course go faster. Transition 2
Comments: I had a great T2 time. I could have shaved off 10 seconds by hydrating while at the end of the bike, and not standing in T2 (drank a good bit). So I was pleased. What would you do differently?: Hydrate on bike and not in T2. Run
Comments: I need to work on doing more bricks, so I can start my run faster, as I tend to get into a pace and stick with it (being comfortable). Also I am thinking about having my wife get me a Garmin for Christmas to help push me. What would you do differently?: No sock (try it), more brick work, Garmin for pacing. Post race
Warm down: Rehydrate- as it was very hot and lost a few pounds through my pores. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of hard training and the heat (esp. on the run). Event comments: I had a great time and pushed myself a bit, so I am very happy. Wanted to beat 1:40 and I did. Had a good time, just need to work out and train more (like everyone else is saying). I am also happy that I was not competitive during the entire race, as this keeps me in a great mindset. I did it - and proud of how I did, even if I am average - I am ok with that (just as long as I push myself and do better than the last time). Congrats to all the other PineappleMan racers! Got up early (4:20am) to get a good parking spot at the race, which I did. Ate two PBJ's in the car on the way over. Picked up my packet, got marked, chipped, and placed my bike and items on the end of the rack.
