Swim
Comments: felt great on the swim....gave a moderate effort, and came out of the water strong. great start to a strong day..(so i thought). i definitely feel it was short, but still an overall decent performance. What would you do differently?: push harder... Transition 1
Comments: smooth t1; ran out of the water, passed a few people, moved with a purpose. What would you do differently?: move faster Bike
Comments: i felt like an animal on the bike!!!!! definitely the strongest performance i have turned out. my goal was to average 20 mph and definitely overachieved. What would you do differently?: nothing Transition 2

Comments: this is where my weakness lies. i knew i was out of my league on the bike when i started the run, EVERYBODY flew by me!!!!! i fully expected it. starting on the run it felt like i had a stress fracture at the base of my right 5th toe. everytime i took a step, i felt a deep "bone" pain. about 3/4 of a mile into the ride, the pain subsided, but then had difficulty getting into a breathing rhythm. heading back into the park, seeing my wife must have done something for me, because i felt great after that. hit quadzilla and trudeged up it slowly but steadily. thats about it. overall a miserable run. i have found my focus for the off season!!! What would you do differently?: train more on running faster. i had the distance down in training, and i could have ran forever. speed, speed, speed!!!! Post race
Warm down: FOOD.... What limited your ability to perform faster: as i said before....training for speed on the run. Woke up at 0500, ate a clif bar, sipped on cytomax and headed to the parking area. set up transition and listened to my shuffle while focusing on the race in my head.
none really....didnt want to do a swim warmup, then sit around for 25 mins. just sat relaxed and stretched.
