Pre-race routine:

Got to the transition early, lots of people. Setup transition area, walked the transition routes to make sure I knew where to find my gear.

First time wearing and swimming in a tri suit. It was an eye opener and was especially nice since the water was really cold. Had a good swim and the run out of the swim to the transition/time mats was pretty long to catch your breath.

Hammered on the bike and paced off a guy that passed me in full tri bike, helmet gear, etc. I started in a late wave, so there were a lot of people out on the course. Continuously passing and it really kept the adrenaline pumping.

First time racing a 10k and not experienced in running and taking in water. Didn't take any fluids on the run and it really started hitting me with 2 miles to go. Just tried to power through it and focused on the finish line.

This has been the best race I've ever done (first ever Olympic distance) and being that it's the largest tri event in the country, it was very impressive how well it was organized and put on. Killer event!
