Pre-race routine:

Arrived early, parked. Spent some time being nervous about my toe. It was painful so I popped Vicodin to get me through it.
Event warmup:

Took last painkiller at 8pm and did some stretching and a few 50 meter kicks.

Comments:

Night run. Had to go slow for over a mile then finally got around some people. I never did get free with over 13000 in this race.
What would you do differently?:

I started with the 8min mile group but saw that I prob should have been up with the 7's because were still going slow in front of me for awhile. With injury tried not to start out too fast so it worked out in the end.
Post race
Warm down:

Light stretching, ate yougurt and 1 bottle water. After that went to get my bag before watching Kayne West perform. Never got to see him, the bag check was ridiculous and took over 2hrs.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Injury to toe. Stubbed toe pretty bad yesterday and today it was black and blue. Ended up taking 4 Vivodin throughout the day. With tape and painkillers it didn't effect me too much during the run. I didn't have the strength for a final sprint but the at pace running was ok.

Event comments:

This race would have been ranked higher but the unorganized bag check situation was insane. People all around me were upset. At least 2000 people that were in line missed the Kayne concert and many entered just for that. For such a big sponsor (NIKE) and the fact that they had done this in cities all across the country the same day you would think they would figure out the bag check deal.
