Comments: The seed by stated start time, and people LIE! I was good with my first few passes. However, I was stuck behind someone who had to be several minutes off of stated time. In addition, he flailed so badly that I gave up passing for the last 3 lengths after the first kick to the face. What would you do differently?: Train more. Transition 1
Comments: Did not care about time. Forgot my towel, so I was stuck in the cold and could not remove grass and mud. Bike
What would you do differently?: Train hills better. Not be afraid to be more aggressive now that I know my limits better. 1st Tri Transition 2
Run
Comments: Time chip did not hit at beginning of run. T2 plus run 40.23 minutes. My legs were fried. My worst segment for training was running. Post race
Warm down: Walked 1-2 miles around Wetwood with family. Stretched better. What limited your ability to perform faster: Work problems impacted ability to train. Event comments: This is my first Tri, so I have no basis for comparison. I was horribly underprepared, but I am glad that I am too stubborn to have not shown up. My wife and kids (2months and 2 years) came along, so we were running late.
Daylight savings did not help.
My warmup was running to T2 and then T1 to get their on time.
Once I got to the pool, it was so cold in the morning.. it was hard to maintain a warm-up or stretch.
