Swim
Comments: I have never had to fight for position when swimming. This was a good lesson and one that I will take into Chicago, Minneapolis and finally Madison. What would you do differently?: I am not sure, I went out a little harder and finished well. The problem was that my heart rate was too high and I had trouble in Transition because of it. Cascade of small problems. Wetsuit, Transitioning to the bike was hard. Transition 1
Comments: I was exhausted in the transition. Had trouble with the suit, bike, getting clipped in and going. What would you do differently?: It is difficult to say, I need to talk it over with others. I went out hard on the swim. I just could not controlmyself well being as winded as I was. I think I need to practice more with the feeling that I had. Bike
Comments: First ride on the ghost, she is great. What would you do differently?: Learn to ride on the right. This was a good ride, need to drink more though. Transition 2
Comments: quick transition, a little trouble with my shoe, I will fixfor next time. What would you do differently?: Not much Run
Comments: Side stitch and blisters, Yeah! What would you do differently?: Different shoes and more water on the bike to prepare for the run. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Fitness on the run and better shoes. Should have drunk morewater. Event comments: 1:35.18 is 12 minutes faster than last year and almost a full 1/2 an hour faster than two years ago. This fantastic!!!! I cannot wait until next year. I was nervous about the race, first one ofthe year and would set thetempo for everything else. I have been training hard and asconsistently asI could.
Woke up at 4 am, had a couple of waffles, asthma medicine, allergy medicine. By race time all engines were a go. Talk to a few peoplefrom the club. KT and Pete and a few others. Again, I was nervous so I kind of kept to myself
Just wadedout in the water to see how the temp was, talked to Dave Clough and got back to the race start.
